Center Street, Mount Olive Mount Olive’s Main Street is the greatest, we combine the look and feel of a small town atmosphere and security while inviting the world to join us for our annual North Carolina Pickle Festival the last weekend in April. For the past few years we have worked diligently to revitalize our downtown with our holiday downtown open house, annual car show and beautification projects. Currently we are working to connect our downtown with our local college and to remodel and open our theater. This will provide many activities for all ages and families. Mount Olive values hometown tradition.

Howe & Moore Streets, Southport Meet the City of Southport, a historic city with a revered past, a vibrant present and an exciting future. Historic Southport brims with an atmosphere and charm fostered by residents who have cherished and preserved its past. Their love of history is embodied in the beautifully restored homes, churches and public buildings that grace the city’s unique, tree-lined streets. Native Southportian's will tell you that “the way it was” is still “the way it is” and that affection has given rise to a tourism industry that’s boomed dramatically in recent years.

Howe - Moore Streets, Southport A historical quaint coastal seaport with tree lined streets featuring some of the largest live oaks in the South. To truly understand the history and to experience Southport’s touch, one must pay a visit to our town. Take time out from sight-seeing to enjoy Southport’s historic business district. The many antique and gift shops along Howe and Moore Streets give visitors a chance to walk and browse at their leisure.
The home of sister museums - Ft. Johnston-Southport Museum and NC Maritime Museum at Southport both sit at the mouth of the Cape Fear.
Howe Street, Southport Southport is a quaint little village at the mouth of the Cape Fear River in lower Coastal North Carolina. It is very historic in nature with the civil war fort, Fort Johnston. We are the official host of the North Carolina Fourth of July Festival. I have lived in Southport for ever it seems and I never want to leave.
Howe Street, Southport Southports Main Street is an attraction to residents and visitors. Walk through the shops down Howe St to the water front and take a seat where Howe and Bay Street meet. Southport is charming, freindly and relaxing. The residents of this fishing village will serve you a cup of coffee, a sandwich, a gourmet meal, a glass of wine or just a big 'ole smile. I love and vote for Southport because it feels different than any other coastal town I visit in NC. I hope that other visit to see for themselves. It is a great get away.

Five years ago, the downtown district was a ghost town. Today, there are times when you can't find a parking space, primarily due to the work of a close knit community. Lafayette at Warren Streets, Shelby Shelby is one of the most beautiful courthouse square towns in the southeast. Historic, early 20th century buildings used for a mixture of retail, office and 2nd floor residential enhance the streets that radiate from the central square. The original town plan utilized the common block grid system and is fully intact. Characterized by wide streets and sidewalks, Shelby's multiple "Main Streets" are notorious for their signature live oak trees. The old courthouse is soon to become the Earl Scruggs Center: Music and Stories from the American South, a museum to celebrate the legacy of Shelby native Earl Scruggs.
Main and Everett Street, Bryson City Bryson City has a very compact/walkable downtown made up of Main Street (US 19) and Everett Street. Main Street, Graham Any discussion of an idyllic Main Street in North Carolina’s Piedmont would be remiss without Graham. As a viable and symbolic city center, the street connects both the nostalgic and function-minded citizens with all their city has to offer.
As a commercial corridor, the street links the modern era transportation of the interstate with the old world railroad north of downtown perfectly divided by a historic courthouse and roundabout. In under two miles, Main Street transitions from the contemporary commerce of thriving national chains into a quaint downtown populated with locally owned businesses before finally offering a quiet
