Project Name:  Wake Forest Innovation Quarter

Description:  Helping to revitalize downtown Winston-Salem as a major hub for innovation in biomedical science, information technology and advanced materials, Wake Forest Innovation Quarter has become home to several thousand people engaged in scientific research, product development, advanced education and workforce development. This reinvention of four former tobacco factories in a National Register Historic District by developer Wexford Science & Technology is using historic tax credits to leverage nearly $350 million in investment and transform one million square feet of empty buildings into a work-live-learn-play environment. Additional development being spurred includes a hotel, loft apartments, commercial development, public art and parks.
