Q: Are there any criteria for nominations?
A: There are a few. The place must be located outdoors or predominantly outdoors (may include some enclosed areas). Parks are a great example, though not every Great Public Place is a park!
Q: What happens after I nominate a Public Place?
A: All nominations will be reviewed by a panel of experts from across the state, who will narrow it down to six elite finalists. Then, those finalists are announced on this site, and voting begins on April 9th. The Public Place with the most votes by 5pm on May 9th will be the People's Choice for Great Main Streets, and will receive statewide recognition!
Q: How can I help my favorite park or other Public Place be the 2014 People's Choice?
A: Be sure to use photos that really capture the "essence" of your Public Place. With just 100 words, be concise in your description of what makes the place great, highlighting any special features or efforts that have been made to make it great or unique. If selected as a finalist, you'll have to hit the streets to spread the word and get folks voting!
Q: If I register, will I get junk mail?
A: No! Your email is kept private and is only used for this contest.
